Geographical position

Putnikovo is the youngest settlement in the municipality of Kovačica.

It is situated in the south-west part of the Banat region, more exactly, in the south-east part of the Vojvodina province, on the 81 m height above sea level. North from Putnikovo is the territory of the Zrenjanin municipality, north-east the municipality of Sečanj and the settlement Samoš.

South-east from Putnikovo is the settlement Padina, on the south are the settlements: Kovačica, Debeljača and Crepaja, in the south-west direction Idvor and in the north-west direction Uzdin. With asphalt road Putnikovo is connected to Uzdin, so it has very good traffic connections with the other settlements of the municipality. It is in the composition of the area of Uzdin.

Beside the area of Uzdin, the inhabitants of Putnikovo have also cultivated land surfaces in the area of Tomaševac.

Population

According to the registration from 2002. year Putnikovo had 243 inhabitants. The national composition is homogeneous. The inhabitants are the Serbs who came from Bosnia and Serbia, but first of all from Hungary.
